Digital Dental X-Ray

We are pleased to offer this unique technology. Radiography is critical for the accurate evaluation of periodontal disease. 60% of dental disease is hidden below the gums, so we need to take Xrays to determine the status of your pet’s teeth. Our state-of-the-art system allows us to view images immediately to treat your pet properly and quickly. Dental radiographs are one of the most important diagnostic tools available to a veterinary dentist. They allow the internal anatomy of the teeth, the roots and the bone that surrounds the roots to be examined.

Laser Therapy

Piedmont Pets is pleased to offer Companion Therapy Laser® treatments. By utilizing laser therapy, our practice is able to heal your pet without drugs or surgery. It is a safe and effective method for reducing your pet’s pain and inflammation, and speeding up the healing process. Laser therapy treatment takes a matter of minutes and has no known side effects. During the process, a laser light is delivered through a non-invasive hand piece to penetrate tissue without damaging it and treats the problem area.

Surgical Services

We have a state-of-the-art operating room for performing a variety of surgical procedures, including complex soft-tissue, orthopedic and emergency surgeries. Depending on your pet’s needs, we also have an electrosurgical unit for specific surgeries. A thorough physical examination will be performed prior to your pet’s surgical procedure in order to identify any medical conditions that may complicate proceedings. Ultrasounds/Sonograms

An ultrasound is a completely non-invasive imaging technique for evaluating your pet’s internal organs. The ultrasound machine uses sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of your pet, which are used to diagnose and monitor diseases. Our veterinarian’s may request an ultrasound exam for your pet for a number of reasons, such as: abnormal bloodwork, unexplained weight loss, pregnancy, and ongoing vomiting or diarrhea.

Digital X-Rays & Radiology Services

Dentistry

Piedmonts Pets offers dental services to help you maintain your pet’s oral health. We provide teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions, oral surgery and more. If you notice your pet has bad breath, broken or loose teeth, abnormal chewing or drooling, or stained teeth, bring them into our office for a dental exam.

Diagnostic & Therapeutic Services

Fauquier and surrounding counties in Virginia have a high incidence of Lyme Disease, so we are extremely proactive in preventing the transmission of this threatening disease.
