Elaine Lutz, DVM
Dr. Elaine Lutz grew up in Clark, NJ. Her interest in agriculture
led her to study Animal Science at Virginia Tech before earning
her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University
in 1983. Upon receiving her D.V.M., Dr. Lutz completed an
equine internship at Georgetown Equine Hospital in Charlottesville.
She continued to practice equine medicine and surgery in the
Charlottesville area until 1985 prior to moving to Warrenton.
Dr. Lutz worked locally as a general practitioner and gradually
transitioned to an exclusively small animal veterinarian.
She opened Piedmont Pets Veterinary Care in April 2002.
Dr. Lutz is actively involved with the Fauquier SPCA, serving
as a board member since 1986. She is married to Rick Miller
and they have two children, two horses, two dogs and a cat.
Dr. Krause grew up in New England
and received a BS in Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary
Medicine, from the University of New Hampshire
in 1995. She graduated from Michigan Sate University
College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and practiced
small animal medicine in MI. In 2010, Dr. Krause, her husband and daughter
relocated to VA. They have four dogs -- the shelties,
Chilly and Holly, and the Belgian Tervuren, Scout
Dr. Emily Kirkpatrick of Full Service Equine in Amissville offers her small animal services to Piedmont Pets. Her specialty services include natural hoof care, reproduction and small ruminant medicine, though she loves just about everything veterinary medicine has to offer.
Devon Dennis, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Devon Dennis has been a licensed
technician since 1999. She graduated from
the University of Georgia and interned at Georgetown
University. In 2005 Devon returned to Warrenton
to work for Dr. Lutz and enjoys being back
where she grew up. Devon's favorite past time
is spending time with her family and two dogs.
Maddy Garrison, Veterinary Assistant
Maddy Garrison has worked as an assistant since 2010. Animals are her passion and she loves her work. Maddy has two cats and a dog that are spoiled rotten, and rule the house!
Laura Sullivan, Veterinary Assistant
Laura Sullivan is a veterinary assistant who loves animals. Her goal is to become a licensed technician. She has one cat and one rabbit.
Carol Goshorn, Receptionist
Carol Goshorn has been living in the Fauquier County area for the past 35 years. She has two grown children living in Kentucky and New Hampshire and 4 beautiful grandchildren. Carol loves horses and dogs of which she has had many over the years. She is currently "owned" by four Jack Russell Terriers who keep her not only busy but thoroughly entertained everyday.
Sue McManus has a BS degree in Visual Art from SUNY New Paltz and spent numerous years in California working as a professional photographer. In 2001 she and her husband relocated to Warrenton to raise their two children in a more rural environment. Sue has been active in our community ever since and is currently on the Board of Directors for the Fauquier Equestrian Forum and volunteers at the WARF. In addition to her two children Sue’s other “babies” include two horses, two dogs, and two cats all of whom bring her much joy and entertainment.
